Breakfast or Brunch Caterer Recommendation?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a restaurant or caterer for breakfast (or brunch)?  We'd like to host something simple the morning after our wedding.  We'd rather have it at our rental house than a restaurant, and probably keep it pretty low-key.

No matter who we go with, there will be one addition: Duck Donuts!  Yum yum. There is one in Corolla near our house... I haven't decided who I need to designate for the donut run yet... someone reliable... ;)

Thanks!!

Re: Breakfast or Brunch Caterer Recommendation?

  • I have been thinking about this and I can't really say that I know of any restaurants in the area that cater for breakfast as most of them are for dinner parties, weddings, etc. that feature dinner entrees.

How many people do you think you will have?  My 2 aunts and 2 uncles prepared all of the food for our morning after brunch and it went pretty smoothly.  One was in charge of cutting and preparing fresh fruits, one was in charge of bacon & sausage, another in charge of eggs, biscuits, muffins, cereals, etc.  It was a huge spread of food and paper plates made clean-up so much easier!

  • Have you contacted the Good Life Gourmet?  They serve a tasty breakfast, so I'm sure they could possibly cater one.  They're in Kitty Hawk but only MP 4.5... not sure if that'll be too far from you.  Good luck!

  • MMM...Good life gourmet is excellent!  They do cater.  And the owner seems really nice.  I think we  are going with the Lone Cedar Cafe on the Causeway for our day after brunch.  But we are not paying for everyone.  I slyly mentioned on the website that brunch and lunch options range from $9 to $15/each.  Attendance is optional, of course!

  • I know that Black Pelican has  a brunch menu on their website and I love their food so we are most likely going to use them for the day after, unless my future father in law wants to take it on( he is used to cooking for 8 all the time so one day for 20 shouldn't be too bad?!?!
  • Good Life Gourmet!! They are the caterers for my daughter's wedding. We were in the Outer Banks last week for some planning and ate lunch at GLG. They have a breakfast menu. We were chatting with Susie the wife of Steve, the owners, and she was telling us how they will caterer for families who are on vacation. They come in and cook breakfast, lunch and dinner, personal chef!! So they definitely would cater a breakfast or brunch.
  • You all are great - thanks so much for these recommendations.  I'm not sure how many will attend - we're inviting our entire guest list (100 or so -- ack!) but I know that quite a few guests will need to start their travel back home very early that morning.  Because of the numbers we'll probably keep it to cold foods - I'm picturing quiche, fruit, bagels, yogurt, coffee cake, juice, coffee.  So I'll check with the places mentioned and see what they can do.  OBX2011, I did contemplate doing it ourselves - I love that your family pitched in, so great!

Thanks again - don't know what I'd do without this board and its awesome, helpful folks!
  • Oh I was also just browsing through Red Sky Cafe's menu and they too have a brunch for around 18 a person..
