Just Married!!! A Windy Wedding Story in the Outer Banks

Hellooooo everyone!  How I have missed you so!  Our wedding was absolutely perfect and it was everything we wanted it to be!  Even though it was very very windy and overcast all day long, I didn't let it phase me one bit!  I was ready to go and nothing was going to get me down :)  It did start raining about 5 minutes before the ceremony started but people keep telling me that the moment I stepped onto the staircase....the rain suddenly stopped and it was as if God granted us with this 4 hour window for the ceremony, pictures and reception before it started raining buckets late Friday night.

I did get a very special surprise at the wedding!  My cousin Bobby flew in from CA and it was the first time ever meeting him!!  I was completely blown away with that and it was something I will never forget!  My dad's family story is a long one and I won't bore you with the details....but it was basically the 1st time his side of the family was together under the same roof and I felt that a part of my family history was finally complete.

We danced the night away and had a wonderful time catching up with friends and family.  We had so many great laughs that night and shared so many wonderful stories!  When Brent and I got home....he had candles lit all over the house and swooped me up in his arms and carried me "across the threshold" of our beach house, lol.  It was so romantic and he even got a bottle of champagne for us to celebrate....and celebrate we did (he he he).

My best advice to all of you upcoming brides/grooms.....take a moment the night of your wedding and soak it allllll in.  While Brent and I had dinner, I just stoped for a moment and scanned the entire room and made sure to take mental snapshots of my dad...or sister....or best friends, laughing with one another and talking to everyone.  I absorbed it all and had the biggest smile ever on my face!  The night will go by faster than you think, so make sure to take a moment to breathe it all in :)

Here are a few sneak peek photos:
