So, I feel a little like I'm back in high school with all of this, but I can't seem to shake it.
My MOH and I have been friends since middle school. We have always done EVERYTHING together. However, just because she's my closest friend, it doesn't mean she's a good friend... if that makes sense... and it's all starting to surface now.
I've always known she has a priority issue. I've accepted that she is who she is and loved her anyway, but now, it's just really starting to interfere with our friendship. She lies to me, hides things from me, she exaggerates things to the point it's pure... well... bullshit (sorry. lack of a better word).
For example... she's been ditching me and our plans several times. I got annoyed, but didn't fuss, I just asked her what was up. She went on to tell me that the boyfriend she just moved in with was abusing her, and that he was treating her child badly, so she's been dealing with that... I was so upset for her! I cried, I stressed, I worried! Come to find out later on, it was actually a totally different story. Her boyfriend was a butthead, yes, but it was nothing more than that. The nights that she ditched me, she was actually at some guys house (not her boyfriend) partying with him.... Fury was an understatement. I was SO worried about her and SO scared for her and her baby.
This is just one example of the times throughout the years that she's done something like this. Like I said, I've always kind of known she's like this, but I made excuses for her or I tried to change her. I always pinned her for my MOH because we've been so close for so long, but now that I think about it, my other bridesmaids are far better friends. I'm kind of sad that I'm realizing this all now, but I feel like she and I just need to go our separate ways. I don't plan on saying anything until after the wedding, but I also feel bad for not telling her what I think now.
