Exchanging Items from Bridal Shower

I have a quick simple question. Is it ok to exchange items recieved at the bridal shower? For example... I picked out towels to go with my shower curtain, but for some reason even though they were bought off the registry I made they don't match. I just want to get the towels that match the shower curtain. Also I recieved a turkey platter and gravy boats, both of which were on the registry, but because of the smal turnout to my shower there is other stuff I would rather have then the turkey platter and gravy boats. Can I exchange those items for something I need? Help! Thanks everyone!

I would! There's no sense in not having what you want... I'm sure that person would rather you exchange it for what you need than to have wasted their money on something you won't use.

I think I learned to not put tons and tons of stuff on your registry til you start running out of gifts choices. I am going to delete items from my registry I put on as fillers since my turnout was so small. This way I will get the stuff we really need at the wedding! Crossing fingers!

I did. I had a cake stand break so I had to bring it back, I guess that is similar. (i haven't used the credit yet thought becasue they didn't have one in stock, I also didn't like it once I saw it again)

I only put the bare minimun on our registry as well, but at my shower i got nothing off my registries, most stuff what whatever people bought.

I would say you can def exchange the towels since they don't match! The gift-giver surely wants to give you what you want.

As far as the platter and gravy boat, I would DEFINITELY keep those. The gift-giver gave you those on purpose. They probably bought them thinking "Oh, she'll think of me every Thanksgiving when she uses these for turkey and gravy" Also, If they ever come over for dinner they may be secretly hoping that you use their wedding gift.
... maybe that's cheesy, but that it what I think about when I choose registry gifts for people.

Besides, I'm sure you will get many more items off your registry as wedding gifts.

Most of the stuff I am taking back (yes i think it is ok) are dupicates. But a few people bought me things that were not on my registry, so I am going to take them back and exchange them for things we really need.
