My FI's best man is a friend from childhood. They have kept in touch and see eachother about every 3 months or so. He is beyond poor and always seems to be struggling to support his family (his wife doesn't work). They just moved from NJ to Conn. to be closer to their family and because the cost of living is cheaper.
When my FI asked him to be his best man, he was so happy, and he agreed with no problem. That was 8 months ago. Since then he has made no effort to do anything wedding related. He has yet to get his tux mesurements even though we've asked several times. Also, he has not planned the bachelor party and FI has brought it up several times. His invitation has been sitting on our coffee table because everytime FI calls or sends him a text to ask for his new address he has not answered him. I thought that was strange, especially since he is the best man.
Well last night FI told me that he finally heard from him and he said he needs to talk to him regarding the wedding and wants to talk in person so he is coming down on Black Friday to talk in person. Also a few days before FI heard from his bm's wife saying that money is really tight for them and they are struggling. I believe this was her response to FI's text asking for their address.
So FI and I are thinking that he is going to tell him that he can no longer be in the wedding or even attend. I know FI is upset and I feel bad. I can't believe this guy has waited this long to tell him. We are 2 months away on Monday!
