So it's less than 60 days until our wedding and FI and I have both been crazy busy. Me with work and my family, hunting for a job, wedding planning, marriage planning, etc...and FI with all of the above in addition to his full time studies as a grad student (finals are coming up), financing the wedding, searching for us a house, etc. Well needless to say FI is planning the honeymoon so I haven't said anything to him about it until last night. I asked what was his plan for the honeymoon because I glanced at the ticker and saw how much time we had left and realized that we still had not gotten passports. Honeymoon plans had been put on the backburner and we both had forgotten about this much needed detail. We were originally planning to take a carnival cruise to the Bahamas but won't be able to if we need passports. So we may have to look for other options in the US. I believe our budget is around $1500 for the both of us. I'm open to anything. We like beaches (FI actually prefers a beach location) but not necessary as we were looking at cabins in Gatlinburg, TN. Do you ladies and gents have any other suggestions for honeymoons in the US or know whether or not we need a passport to go to the Bahamas for the cruise and if so how long does it take to get one?
