So my shower is in about 2 weeks.
The backstory. My Fi and his family live in a different state, but it is only about an hour drive to where I live and where they live a rural area, they have to drive atleast 20-30 mintues to get anywhere a lot of times so driving places should not be an issue.
My FI grandmaw called him and told him that she would not be making the shower, I had the expectations that his family would not be making a huge appereance at the event, but I hoped atleast his grandmaw would come. (they drove 3 hrs + for his sister's 15 minute wedding) She asked if his mom was going (I hope so, I mean why wouldn't she be!!), so we think it is the driving thing, being in New Orleans, for some reason people are scared, but it isn't in the city and they wont even get off the interstate in the city.
I'm affraid his mom and sister wont even show up. His mom has been having mental issues and wont even drive here by herself on a normal weekend. I just don't see the issue with the driving. His sister and I barely talk, yet she is in the wedding, I wanted to avoid possible drama, but I'm regreting it now, because frankly I just don't like her.
I just don't understand the issue with the driving. I know that is/will be the major thing with these people. I'm just used to family showing up for things and family being there for each other I guess and this takes getting used to. I thought that I wouldn't care if his family didn't show up (I don't know if I would know half of them anyway), but I do.
