It's killing me....

Not being able to pick up my dress!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!!! My car broke down on the way to get our marriage license on Friday. Luckily my FI's dad was on his way home from work and was able to meet us where my car broke down on the interstate. He gave us his truck and waited with my car until the tow truck came so we could get the marriage license. My FI's parents gave us their PT Cruiser for me to use until my car is ready. After we left their house on Sat I found out my dress was ready, but we were already home (an hour and a half away). I am going to pick up my dress when my car is ready since they are both in the same town. This is the second day my car was not ready I was determined to pick it up anyway, but my FI's mom convinced me not to make two separate trips. Here's to hoping my car is ready tomorrow night!

Megan I dont know how you are doing it! I drive a lot so an hour and a half drive would not stop me from picking up my dress. I could hardly wait to get my dress... and that was a 5 hour drive!

Part of it is I am driving my FI's mom's car. If I had my own I would do the drive no problem.

I find what constitutes a "long drive" is relative to where you're at.  I'm originally from the middle of nowhere.  The nearest stoplight was 45 mins to an hour away.  Gas, groceries, etc were at least 30 minutes away.  So driving that was normal for us.  Here where I live now, people are used to having things five mins down the street and 20 mins is considered a long drive.....lol

FI is from a small town like this. I am from the stuff 20 mins away type of city, if you could call it that. Most people drive right through and don't even notice it.

I know the feeling of small town and driving far. My town is literally a 1/2 mile wide they the interstate. It has one exit. If ur not paying attn. u will miss it. For me to get to a walmart it's a good 40 min drive. If I want other things like a hobby lobby or so it's even further. I drive 45 min one way to work. EVERYDAY. And ten drive home at midnight.
