Our "Couple's" Shower Yesterday

Well, our couple's shower was yesterday, thrown by my FMIL. I am not a party person, and my FMIL has been getting on my last nerve the past few weeks. Top that off with I was not feeling well AT ALL. But, I kept a smile on my face and tried really hard to have a good time.

It was...alright I suspose. Only 3 of my 7 bridesmaids showed up, which was a little upsetting, but I shook it off. We had a good number of people show up, all sorts of friends and family and whatnot. It was held at my FI's parent's house, and that was sort of the problem. It was far too crowded. More than a few times, FI and I had to step outside for a few minutes to get some air. I didn't eat, but FI told me that the food was good and everyone seemed to have a great time. We didnt' do any games (I'm not a games person) but we did some raffle give away things.

It had its ups and downs. FI spent a little too much time socializing with his groomsmen, but, he eventually made his way around to everyone else as well. FMIL wore a totally not age appropiate shirt that showed her stomach, but I shook that off too. The biggest thing was that my FMIL invited people to the shower that weren't originally invited to the wedding, without asking us first. People that my FI and I didn't even know at all. My FI and I are paying for the wedding ourselves, but she took care of the shower, not sure what to do at this point.

We got quite a few lovely gifts, but my personal favorite came from my dad and step-mom. They got us a bride and groom outfit from Build-A-Bear Workshop, and a gift card so we can make the bears together! It was such a cute idea! I can't wait to do it, and then set the bears up at our present table at our wedding or something like that.

All in all, I didn't have the greatest time, but my FI did. I think most of it was me not feeling well.
