I've definitely heard that you're not supposed to use your gifts from the shower until the wedding. But we are. I feel a teensy bit guilty about it, and my family is teasing me a bit about it...just wanted to see what you guys thought.
A variety of factors make it difficult to not use a lot of them...first off our showers were more than two months before the wedding, and who wants a Kitchenaid Mixer sitting in a box staring at them in the face for two months, especially during Christmas cookie season?? And more practically, FI is living in the apartment we're living in together after the wedding...and it is bare bones. We found all the random (crappy) stuff we used on our own in college, and bought the minimum amount we absolutely had to for him to live there.
For what it's worth, my list of who gave what gift is very detailed, and if something should happen with the wedding I fully plan on going out to buy the exact same thing everyone got me to return to them.
So, using gifts? Yay or nay?
