Currently my mode of transportation is a 2007 two door red Cobalt. It gets great gas mileage and has awesome trunk space for long trips or large shopping sprees.

I bought it about 4 months before I met my FI so of course I was not thinking about children or family stuff when I bought it.
For the last year if not year and a half, the family thing has been on my mind. I didn't want to keep paying on a vehicle I wasn't going to keep but the payments were so great for my student budget and wedding planning so I kept it. I'm currently looking at vehicles to buy sometime next year after we are married.
I of course want a crossover or small suv but the price starts going up with the fuel efficiency. I'm in love with the Mini Countryman but in my boredom today I was reading that it is a tight squeeze once you add an infant seat in the back.

FI is against the crossover/suv thing unless it's a Countryman. He loves Minis. I thought it was nice compromise but now I'm not so sure.
What do you drive? Any great tips or good buys for a fuel-efficient family vehicle? Preferrable not a mini-van. (I know, I'm picky.)
