In addition to Wedding Planning and only 77 days to go I am having problems at work. I'm an Assistant Manager and my Store Manager has been being really hard on me for little stuff lately and I am pretty sure if she had it her way I would not be there anymore. Her really good friend is a part time manager and I have a feeling she wants her friend of 6 yrs as her Assistant rather than me. We are really short staffed... everyone keeps changing their availability or leaving completely and there are very few applicants and with Black Friday only 12 days away we are in huge trouble. My Store Manager asked me to hold interviews about 2 weeks ago and I did and hired 1 girl. I had to look up the new hires phone # last night online because I didn't have it to tell her what her shift was today and instead of finding her phone # I found a mug shot. It said the girl I hired has been arrested 3 times. 2 misdemeanors and 1 petti theft. PETTI THEFT!!!!! I work in retail.... NOT GOOD! I am going to review her application with a fine tooth comb when I get in today because there is a box asking if you have been arrested on misdemeanor or felony charges. I am praying she lied,,,, if she did I am pretty sure I am going to tell my Store Manager and District Manager and Loss Prevention Manager about it. But if she didn't lie on the application it means I knowingly let the theif into my house so to speak. And my Store Manager is already wanting me gone! HELP! What would you do??? PS I am applying to other stores so I can leave my current store.
