rings

when fi got my engagement ring he got it in a size that was what the ring i used to wear is. however, my e-ring and wedding band are a little loose. ive been wearing my e-ring since early may and havent had a problem with it falling off or thinking that im going to lose it. but when i put my wedding band on, it pushes it a little closer to my knuckle and makes me afraid of losing them both. i dont want to get it re-sized because the band has filligree for the entire circumfrance and it had to be sized when it was made or i will lose the decorative band. i dont want to have to wear a ring stay all the time because really they are kind of ugly. i heard about small metal balls that the jeweler can sauder into the inside of your band that make it a little looser and you cant see. we bought our rings from mountz and when i asked them about this she acted like i was crazy. have any of you had this done and if so, where? thanks!

There are sizing balls that can be placed inside your band, if you opt for that.  Pricescope.com has some good posts on their forums about this, and you can see pics of what it looks like with the sizing balls being used on a band.  As far as where to go, when I lived up towards Hbg, I always used GM Jewelers on rt. 22 (they're right across the street from Commerce Bank/right beside the carpet store) for any kind of jewelry repair/alteration needs and have always been happy with them.  They may be worth a phone call to see if this is something they could help with.

My engagement ring is too big by almost one size, and I refuse to give it up until I have my wedding band.  Fiance' had my ring custom made, and we went to the jeweler to check out wedding bands--they looked at my ring and could tell it was way too big, so they took apoxy (spelling?) glue and made a lining on the inside; it is a small coating on the bottom of the ring--same idea as the metal beads.  It worked perfectly and was free.  No one can tell--and when I show people they are very surprised because you can't tell at all because it's clear and will stay on the inside of the band--you can't feel it either.  I don't have to get it sized and ruin the band, and if I need it larger, I just have to peel it out--it doesn't rub off, and it will stay for about a year (from what I'm told, but it's stayed for about 2 months so far and looks like it won't budge)--when it does fall off, just put a new layer in.  You won't have to ruin your filligree, and it WILL stay put!!! Fiance' is wearing a titanium ring, which also can't be resized, so we bought it a little larger and are doing the same thing so he can wear it in the future in the event his fingers get larger (you can't size titanium).Ok, super long post, but I think it's the easiest and FREE! way to do it--if you mess up, you scrape it off and it doesn't damage at all.  I hope this helps!!!
