MIDDLETON PLACE pavillion reception comments/advice/reviews???

Has anyone had their wedding at Middleton place and used the pavillion for the reception?  I am in love with the ceremony site at MP but am uneasy about the pavillion for the reception. I can't find many pics online of the pavilion. Can anyone share some advice on the MP pavilion?  I feel like it may not be as fancy as I would like.  I would love to see pics if anyone has them.

THANKS!!!

Re: MIDDLETON PLACE pavillion reception comments/advice/reviews???

  • I am thinking about a ceremony at middleton place and a reception at charlstonplace hotel.  I am worried about the two sites being too far away from each other for guests to travel.  Google maps shows the drive being about 30 min.  Any thoughts? suggestions?  they would be much appreciated.  THANKS!!
  • Sorry, we had our wedding there at the chapel, but we had our reception at Tristans in Charleston. Is is quite the drive, close to 30 minutes as you found. But, I dont think it's NOT do-able. Thirty minutes is not bad between ceremony and reception site in my opinion.

But, we also had a VERY small wedding (just 4 people).

Just so you know, I dont think I've ever read a bad opinion on the pavillion either.

Middleton is fantastic............with that being said, it leaves much to be desired in the reception area. It is dark dark dark. If it does rain, the tin roof makes so much noise, the DJ must blast your ears with his speakers. It is sad that such a beautiful historic place couldn't have done better with the reception site. But, if you have to take it, then by all means take it. The gardens make up for it!!
