Looking for guidance for Charleston weddings?

I am happy to help anyone who is getting married in the Charleston area and looking for guidance/advice/suggestions, etc. My husband and I run a wedding photography business (which I will not name because this is not a plug for the photography business). This is my way of testing myself to see how much I REALLY know about the wedding business in my hometown. I'm curious to see if my knowledge is deep enough to offer wedding planning advice to brides, or if I still need to know more.

We were married in downtown Charleston in October 2009, at the waterfront park.

I'm open to any questions and inquiries for guidance! Thank you in advance for helping me to test myself to see what I really know. Wink

Hey!  I would love some answers!  I'm a bride from PA having my destination wedding in Charleston in 3 months!

How's the marriage license process in Charleston?  I am from Philadelphia, and I know that the law is 24 hrs in SC, but do you think if we go for our marriage license on Monday before our Saturday wedding we would be ok?  We are only down in Charleston for one more week day prior to the wedding week.

What spa would you recommend for me and my girlfriends the week of the wedding?

We are using an officiant, Dr. David Watkins, ever worked a wedding he performed? Any opinions?

    Thanks in advanced!!!!

I am also having a destination wedding in CHS!  I found Ladies Pamperspa online and it looks like a great place to do day before mani/pedis!  It is right downtown.  Happy planning!

    Hi,
I was wondering if you could help me find a reasonable place downtown for a welcome dinner next May on a Friday night. We need a place that holds 60 to 80 and is downtown and is handicapped accessible (preferably since we have a couple older guests that may have a hard time with stairs). We don't want to do Sticky Fingers since it's a little too casual. South End Brewery is already booked. We are considering Magnolia's but want to know if any one has eaten there.

    Thank you!

You will be fine if you go to the courthouse on Monday before your Saturday wedding.  Basically, you go to the courthouse (with CASH, no credit or checks will be accepted, I think it was $70, but you should double check that, or bring extra) fill out the paperwork, turn it in, wait 24 hrs, then you could pick it up Tuesday.

And judging by the questions and lack of response from the original poster, it seems that she is trying to launch a new business on here and wants people to contact her directly.

Videographer -- I would recommend Briteside Productions.
I actually worked in tv with Josh and he is amazing!
    <a href="http://www.britesideproductions.com/" rel='nofollow'>http://www.britesideproductions.com/</a>

His prices are really good and he's got a quick turn around. We married on May 21st, had our DVD by June 12th.
