Using full name for ceremony?

My FI's first name is Alexander, he sometimes goes by Alex but most people know him as Sasha. I am not sure what's better but leaning towards his full name. Any ideas?

    My Fi's first name is Gregory but goes by Greg.  He hates his full name, but we are using it in the ceremony to be more formal.

    I would say that since Sasha is technically a nickname for Alexander to go for his full name for the ceremony. There are few times in our lives where we have the opportunity to have our name announced to a crowd and I think the formality of the occasion would call for the use of the full name.
