Cake bakers? Florists?

Hi ladies!

I just found this board and am so excited! I always just went to Northern CA board.

Anyway.... I just wanted to see who you ladies are using for cake? I am in the East Bay.

Also...who are you using for flowers?

Thanks in advance!

Mmmm....cake. FI was not too into the cake so we had cupcakes instead.
They were lovingly made by Deanna Nickerson at Occasional Sugar. (she was amazing! I had red velvet as one option and then white cake with raspberry puree center)

We did do tastings with Carolyn Wong and Walnut Creek Bakery. Both were really good. WCB was a little high in price though.

I'm using Ambrosia Bakery in SF (Ocean Avenue) for my cake.  They are a neighborhood bakery my family has gone to for years, and you don't really think of them to do wedding cakes.  But they showed me what they can do, and it's beautiful.  Their cakes are also delicious, and they'll do any design you want.  I think my cake for about 150 people will be around $1,000 when everything is said and done.

My florist is Added Touch Flowers from SF.  Carol, the florist, is really talented.  She actually operates out of her house, so I think she's able to cut costs for the customer that way.  She has done flowers for some pretty big events around town, and she'll do anything to fit your budget.  Her website is available at: http://www.anaddedtouchflowers.com/

We just had our cake tasting a few weeks ago and we are going with Sweet Tooth Confections. We decided to do a small 3 tierd cake and a dessert bar to give our guests more options. The website is www.sweettoothconfections.net. Rachael is the owner and she is so sweet and her prices are great!

Florist, we haven't decided but it's between Precious and Blooming and LJ Floral Designs.

We're doing our tastings these next two weeks with Adeline Bakery (very reasonable, starts at $4 slice, delivery fees outside of Berkeley), Cakes Made By M.E., (a little more expensive but can be more creatively done, also charges delivery fees), Le Gateau Elegant, (I've heard they are reasonable and also that they are not, will not know for sure until we go to the tasting), and Glass Slipper, ( a caterer that also does wedding cakes, not dirt cheap but pretty reasonable and no delivery fee for our venue).

Good luck and keep us posted on who you decide to try!
