We did a casual wedding, where the caterer used disposable plates, but we didn't want disposables, so we bought our own plates. (We also bought silverware at the restaurant supply store. we are keeping those, but if you need silverware, I can give you the info. It was cheaper than renting).
Now, I have crates and crates of plates to get rid of! Heavy duty, 10" plates, white with grey dots around the rim. Slightly curved, so if you are having saucy foods (pasta, bbq, etc.) it will help prevent spills.
