Photographer for Oakland Wedding

Hi Everyone! We're getting married this coming September in Oakland, and haven't found a photographer yet! We'd like to stay under $2000, really, under $1500, but definitely don't want to skimp on quality. Does anyone know of any hidden gems out there?

Try Batts Photography.  They have a wonderful collection of photos.  It's a husband and wife team.  They are doing our photos for $1,200.

he is amazing! he has all sorts of different pricing and packages to suit your budget. he was able to work with me - he is great.

We aren't getting married until August 2012 but we loved his work so much - we already booked him!

I am using Julie Cheshire not only because she is so nice and takes FABULOUS photos....but also because she was the only official, legit, professional photographer  I could find in the East Bay area that offered a package under $2000.  Plus she's not part of one of these franchised "studios" where they just send out whoever's available that day. Believe me, I did a lot of research.

norbertwedding.com .  Norbert is out of Palo Alto, but he travels.  I think he charges $200/h if you just want the high-def DVD of the prints.

We're going to have our engagement pics done by him in April. Right now, photography is more of a hobby for him as he has a full-time job but the work that I've seen is fantastic! I'm not sure of his prices and if he is taking on any more jobs right now but look into him.

We booked Paul von Schwarzenfeld. He did our e-pics and is doing our wedding (up to 12 hours) for $600. He's very sweet and easy to work with. He doesn't do prints or anything - just gives you the hi-res copies of your photos for you to do as you wish.
