NWR* Savannah

Hello Ladies!  I am Jackie and am a Philly 2012 Bride.

My Mom and I are making the trip from NJ-FL and we plan on stopping in Savannah for a night.  Anyone have any good recommendations for where to eat and/or what to do?  Thanks!

Do you prefer a modern hotel or a historic one?  Try the Avia if you are looking for modern.  I'm not the best reference for the historic hotels, although the Marshall House is nice.

For a great place for food, live music and excellent drinks, check out Jazz'd Tapas Bar...it's my favorite spot.  Affordable and excellent.  It is a short walk from Avia.

For hotels, I would check almost anything on Bay St.  There is actually a brand new Holiday Inn Express that is really nice and the rates are pretty fair.  Avia is very nice, but more modern.  I also like the Double Tree, Inn at Ellis Square and Mulberry Inn.

If you're looking to have a good time and drink at some bars: Wet Willy's, JJ Bonerz, Pour Larry's, pretty much anything on River St, Bay St, or the square right down the road (Barnard St).

Eat: Crab Shack (Sampler Platter), JJ Bonerz, Wet Willy's, Tony Roma's

The links above should help you with sightseeing (Ghost Tour at night, Trolley Tour, River Boat Cruise, etc.)
