Need Help finding bridesmaid dresses

Ok so I'm super excited b/c I said yes to dress today!!!!!!!!!! Now my issue is finding a bridesmaid dress for my girls. I/m in the Durham area and i just want to find something affordable for my girls.  I really like the whole convertiable look but everywhere I've seen is super high.  Please if anyone knows of some places please help a sister out.

Re: Need Help finding bridesmaid dresses

  • David's bridal is always affordable, there is one at Southpoint, or on Capital Blvd in Raleigh.  There is also a bridal shop at the Costco/BB&B at Northpoint (broad Street) in the strip with the krogers.  I am not sure of the budget range for that store

  • I had luck with Ann Taylor--when they had a 40% off sale, and free shipping.  The dresses ended up being about $130, I could order a bunch of sizes (though most of my bridesmaids knew their Ann Taylor size) and colors to see which I wanted.  You could probably find a similar deal with JCrew.

Go to a bridal show and find the dress. Copy the designer and style number and order it from Pearl's Place. So much cheaper!

    That's what I did.

I'm not having bridesmaids, but a friend of mine did the following for her wedding awhile back: She just told the folks what color to get, and whether to get long or short, and they got their own dresses at a department store like Macy's. That could work if your color choice is easily identified, like really red, black, daffodil yellow, kelly green, royal blue, etc. Not so helpful otherwise. My friend had really red, and it worked perfectly. She had two bridesmaids, which I'm sure also helped a lot -- it could get messy if you have a big bridal party. You might also go to Macy's or another dept. store and see what you can find that you might suggest to your bridesmaids. If they're all local, you could pick non-chain stores, but the national stores will probably have the best prices, David's Bridal included.
  • I'm not sure if you've already been shopping, but Bella Bridesmad in Cary (at Lochmere Pavilion) is amazing!! The owner Christy is awesome and her new girl, Laura is too! I got my bridesmaid dress, my RD dress, my getaway dress, and mom's MOB dress there!
  • David's Bridal is a good place, but also try SAVVI off of glennwood ave. They have some great sales.  Also the idea of everyone having the same color but different style works great as long as everyone has the same material. Different materials can make the color look off.  Good Luck!
  • Bridal Boutique of Cary.  I don't just love the owners but they offer great discounts when purchasing multiple dresses.

  • I This is the dress mentioned in my earlier post.
  • Etsy has the convertible dresses the cheapest I've seen. The Jersey Maid is the shop name. I'm pretty sure that's where I'm getting my bridesmaid's dresses from. I ordered a sample dress and I love it!
