Reserving block of hotel rooms

I was wondering how any of you went about reserving a block of rooms for your wedding.  Our wedding is in June 2012 and I'm not too sure where to even start looking to set aside rooms for out of town guests.  Any help would be very appreciated!  Thanks!

We used a Hampton in Innsbrook and Midlothian (my side of town, his side of town)...no deposit was required. I just went into the desk and told them I needed a block for a wedding. You do sign a contract, but you're not responsible for the cost of the rooms. They give you a code for the guests and a way to set up an online site so you can manage the bookings. GL!
