Beach Wedding

Hi All! :)

My fiance and I are looking for a wedding venue location on the beach for a decent price. Any ideas? We're shooting for anywhere up the coast but hoping for something in the Central California Region.

Thank you!!!

Re: Beach Wedding

  • Hey! I searched for beach weddings up the coast, just to keep my options opened. I know there are a few around Morro Bay that are pretty decent and the surrounding cities around Monterey Bay. I wish I had kept that file of locations I was considering, but once we decided, I got rid of it. Hope that helps a little. :)
  • Depending on your price range the San Luis Obispo area is awesome. I had my wedding in Pismo Beach, up on the cliffs and it was gorgeous. I've been to one right on the beach in Avila that was really nice, and my friend had hers in Cayucos out by the pier (although it was a bit colder there). There are some venues that will do beach weddings and have private areas set up, or if you're looking to go cheaper you can purchase a permit from the city for not very much and just do your own set up on one of the beaches.

  • Check the website for City of Pacific Grove in Monterey County.  There are many city parks you can reserve for $150 per hour, 2 hour minimum.  On the cliffside, you can choose Lover's Point Park or the smaller, less busy Berwick Park. Lover's Point beach is below the park, but very public and you must plan for a time that high tide won't interfere. Other parks are a few blocks inland and include a gazebo or more 'woodsy' settings.  'A By the Sea Wedding' is providing my minister, they are very affordable and will travel to your location anywhere in Monterey County.  If you have a bigger budget and want to go as far north as Santa Cruz, you can use the beach near the wharf, away from the Boardwalk, and the Cocoanut Grove for reception.
