Suggest your favorite camera!!

I'm looking to purchase a new camera this week in honor of our 1 month anniversary (lol) So, I'm looking for your suggestions (I'm looking for a pro SLR camera, not a point and shoot) Maybe someday I'll be back on here with an actual portfolio (one can hope!)

This site's been recommended to me for reviewing SLRs. I don't have one yet, but I'm planning on making my first DSLR purchase within the year. Good luck! http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/recommended-cameras.htm

sorry I'm not help with the pro stuff, but I'd like any suggestions on a regular old digital point and shoot.  I had a really old Cannon when I was in college that took GREAT pictures, but we upgraded a few years ago to a sleeker, smaller model.  We got a cute little casio that I thought was kind of expensive and it takes such crappy pictures.  I wish I could still find my old bulky cannon!

FI has a Nikon D40x and loves it. It takes fantastic pictures and is fairly easy to use. I know there's newer versions of the one he has (he got it like 2 years ago), but it's still a great camera!

I have a Nikon D90 and it's amazing! Let me know if you have any questions about it.  It also takes great HD video.

I love my Canon EOS Rebel. I would recommend it to anyone. A lot of people will say Nikon makes a better camera but I disagree. But to be honest you really should test out a few cameras and see what you like the best. Really think about what features are important to you, how it feels in your hands, and can you figure out all the applications on it. It should all come down to what you are comfortable with. Good luck!
