Downtown Wedding Venues

Has anyone held a reception at the Artsgarden or the Indiana State Museum? We are really interested in booking one of these sites and I wanted to hear from some experienced brides about them.  Average cost of the venue/food overall? Easy to work with? etc.... Any information about booking with one or both would be helpful! Thanks : )

IDK specifics about price, but I know the arts garden is reserved through the Ritz Charles.  They have flat rate prices that include everything on a per person basis.  So for example, your wedding cake, all your chairs, table, set-up, coordinator, food, bar, linens, etc. could range probably anywhere from $80-XXX$ per person based on the package of your choosing.  I am having my wedding at the Ritz and have been very very pleased with their service.  I haven't heard one bad thing about them.

Thanks! Yeah we really like the Ritz too and are thinking about that as well.  I think the artsgarden ends up being a bit more pricey because you have to rent the space (whereas at the Ritz its included with the per person fee).  We are just trying to get a feel for overall pricing at a few other venues before making a final decision.  But I agree, the Ritz has awesome service!

What about "The Mavris"?

I can tell you that the Mavris is booked every Saturday in 2011. Our wedding reception will be at the Fountain Square Theatre. No outside catering, to rent the space is $2000, and there is a food and drink minimum, but it's not to hard to hit it.
