I was actually thinking about the Nikon D90. When comparing other cameras, this seems like one of the best for the money. In fact, I think it has a little better features than the D300 (and it's a lot cheaper). Does this camera have a detachable flash or one that is permanently attached? What kind of lens do you have for it?

I'm sorry I just now came back and saw this!  The flash is built-in but it also has the option of a detachable one instead.   Mine came with a Nikkor 18-55mm and FI got me a Nikkor 70-300mm that is AMAZING when it is used with the remote (he bought that separately and gave it to me with the lens).  I took a closeup picture of the statue of liberty from the top of the empire state building with it using no tripod and just the remote.  It's great!  Hope you find a good deal on whatever you decide :)  I actually bought mine on eBay and got lucky because I had a coupon for 10% off and then got $200 cash back through livesearch.  It was about $750 total and that included a tripod, bag, lens, lens cover, and a few other things.

Thanks! I was able to check it out last night and I really liked it. It's my favorite so far! I also want to check out the D5000, and D300. I tried laying with the cool Canon they had, but was confused. It was a little difficult to figure out. We're going to go back out tonight to Carlisle Camera in Mechanicsburg to look at a few more cameras before we decide. have you ever used your lens to the max (300)? I'm just wondering b/c I was thinking about a different lens. Im not sure I would need to to go to 300.

I don't use that lens much and when I do I very rarely need to go to 300.  It's cool to see how far you can see sometimes, but the only time that I've really needed it was when I was in Switzerland and was taking pictures of the Alps.  I use my smaller lens most of the time anyways.
