HIS wedding ring...

Hi ladies...

A bit personal I know, but I'd love the input...

I'm looking to buy my fiance's wedding ring soon. He's not really into rings, but understands the needing to have one. We poked around a few stores and the one he likes best is $600.

Is this about average for men's gold bands? What did you spend?

I think I had some crazy hope it would cost less than $400. Boo.

Thanks!

Just like for women's rings, it can vary widely depending on the design and what's on it. DH chose a fairly plain white gold band so it was only about $150.

The ring that my Fiance wants is $400. It's true what Ring_Pop said that it depends on the design, the material, whats on it, diamonds, etc.

I spent about $300 including engraving.  He got a titanium ring with a wood inset.

My FI got a titanium ring, it was about $175.

Like PPs said, it depends on the ring and the design and the brand.  I would do some more shopping around to see what you can find... if cost is the biggest issue and you don't need a custom size or shape or design then I would probably check some of the bigger jewellery stores, they have sales and can sometimes offer lower prices because of the volume that they do (Peoples, Mappins, Spence, Barry's).

You should look on etsy IMO.  You can find really unique and well priced rings on there.

My FIs band is costing us $350.  It's a fairly plain band but it's white gold which drove up the cost.  We bought at an independant, but you can get rings for about that.

That said, I did look around at a lot of places and on average, the mens bands were $300 - $1000 depending on what the style was, what material and if it had diamonds or not.

If it's a band he really really loves and you guys can afford it, it is something he'll be wearing for many many years, every single day!

    Good luck!!

    Thanks for sharing girls...

I'm thinking we'll poke around a bit more. But like some of you mentioned, it's a forever ring. If the one he loves is $$$ so be it. :)

DH's ring was more on the expensive side because it was platinum, but there are great deals for men's rings, simply because they tend to be more plain than women's rings.  Definitely shop around and make sure he loves it before you buy it - you are correct - it is a "forever" ring.

my FI's ring was 850. He loved it so I got it for him. but my friend and her husband spent 125. its all about budget and personal preference. We decided to spend more on rings than certain aspects of decore. our rings meant more to us than table cloths.

I paid for my FI's wedding band... and let him pick it out himself.  He choose one that was around $650... I figure it's a whole lot less than my e-ring and band combined so I had no problems paying that much for him.  I want him to love his ring and want to wear it :)

haha my FI was so excited to tell me that he spent $50 on his ring. He and his friends aren't into diamonds or gold and want "manly" tungsten and carbide, so he got one off Ebay! It has a 1 yr warranty and if he ever needs it sized, well that would cost around $50 anyway, so he could just get a new ring!

I had a very hard time finding a wedding band to compliment my e-ring and lucked out when my aunt offered em to wear hers from her first marriage (my uncle passed away). We were very close and I am still quite close with my aunt so this was a dream come true for me. And it looks fantastic with my e-ring!
