Bridal Shower

I'm at the beginning stages of planning my sister's bridal shower with my mom (a complete nightmare with my mom!). 

here is the question of the day:

My mom and the groom's mom have met once.  Should my mom ask his mom if she wants to be a part of this shower (we normally just throw one with both families) or should we ask the groom or the bride to ask?

I think your mom should get in touch with the groom's mom directly. It would be a really nice gesture and I'm sure groom's mom would appreciate it.

Ditto to PP - good way for the moms to get to know one another as well.

I agree with the above.  Your mom should try to get in touch with her mom - even if they've only met once.

In my case, our mothers chatted and they are throwing one big shower, hosting together and splitting the cost.

It's a nice way to bring the families together before the wedding!
