Help!

hey guys I need your advice and help. My fiance and I would like to have a outdoor ceremony as he would like his dogs involved. For a recpetion we just want something low key. I found a perfect restaurant that has its own dance floor and music on a saturday night but it does not start until 10:30. My dilema is this: Is that too late to start dancing? There is a park close to the restaurant in which we could have our ceremony. What should our time line look like?

Thanks!!

What time are you planning on having dinner? It might be a bit late, people with kids might want to leave shortly after that.

I don't know if you've thought of this, but if you want the reception in a restaurant, you can usually buy out a small restaurant for the night as long as you guarantee to spend a certain amount of money.  Then it's just for you and your guests.

How early can you have the restaurant for? 10:30 isn't too late to start dancing but when would your reception start (assuming you are having food, toasts etc). Is access to the restaurant not until 10:30pm?

Would you have your own separate section?  If so, I'd say it's fine - you can have ceremony at 7, dinner at 8, speeches, cake-cutting, etc. and then dancing can start at 10:30?  If you're worried about people being hungry you can have cocktail hour before the ceremony starting at 6.

If you're in with the other guests at the restaurant though it might be hard to to speeches etc.
