weather woes

Our wedding is this saturday. The ceremony and cocktail hour are outside, but covered under a terrace. The weather report says a high of EIGHT degrees, and windy. Oh, and 80% chance of rain. Today it is 28 degrees and sunny, not fair!

Any advice how to keep my chin up with this sucky weather?

Awww - is there any way to move things inside?

If not, just think of all the pretty windblown photo-ops!  Also, get a really pretty umbrella for some artsy pictures, and even some rainboots! :)

PS - the weather is changing like crazy lately - so don't worry about it yet!

They have an indoor room we can use for the ceremony, but it's not to my taste. We had our hearts set on using the terrace. Obviosuly we want our guests to be comfortable, so if there are hurricane winds or it's really freezing we'll move it inside.
I'm trying to think positively, our photographer has been great~ telling me we'll get some cute shots with umbrellas and stuff.

It's supposed to be sunny PreppySailor. I know what it feels like. My wedding is also Saturday, but nothing is outside. The weather reports keep changing. Try to not look at them and pray for sunshine and warmer temperatures. (also I heard 13 degrees, not 8)

Good luck on your wedding this Saturday. :)

Preppy! You are going to be the most beautiful bride! No one is even going to care about the weather, because everyone is going to be looking at you and your fabulousness. I love Littlin's idea of cute shots with umbrellas....I was actually walking past a  wedding in the rain and it was cute - they got matching umbrellas for the BM's and the FOTB Held a white one over the bride's head.

I know it's not ideal, but it is still going to be an amazing day. There have been times when they have predicted like 90% rain and then it is sunny, so the weather man isn't GOD! I will do an anti-rain dance for you anyhow.

Eek! Well I think the weather report changed pretty much every day in the week leading up to the wedding. Do you have a plan B?

Good luck! And if I don't get to wish you well before Saturday... have a great wedding!

Thanks everyone, we had the rehearsal tonight and I feel much better, we did a practice outside, and a practice in the back-up room, and it wasn't SO bad.

The worst part is the venue gets to decide at 1:00 where it will take place, so it could be pouring at 1 and then beautiful by 3:30.

I might not be back on the boards til after our honeymoon, but I will post pictures as soon as I can.

Well, stormy/cloudy conditions make for some fabulous pictures.

I'll just ditto what everyone else said, umbrellas, Wellies, and a smile.

Whatever happens, it's just a day.  Yes, it's the day you get to marry your best friend, but really, that's the only part that really matters.

Whatever happens, enjoy the day.  And if it's raining, take a moment to yourself and have a little fit.  I did it, and it made me fee much better.  Just don't let anyone seeing you be a 'zilla, and you're good to go!

Good advice Raynes! I will have a good cry in the bathroom if I feel like I need to hehe. I have come to the realization that we are lucky to HAVE a plan B/indoor space, and it's more important for guests to be comfy and warm. We'll do some pictures outside.

And Rachel good luck this Saturday as well. Fi got me a netbook for a wedding gift so maybe I'll post from our honeymoon.
    =)
