Escort cards with sticky thing on the back

Hi ladies,

I want to have cupcakes for my wedding but since we won't likely be giving them out as favours, I was thinking of using them as escort cards. It will look like this but instead with cupcakes. Would that look weird?

So I need the sticky paper thing and I don't know where to get it. It doesn't have to be round, it could be rectangular in shape so I have more room to write on it.

Would people pick it up off a table and carry it to their spot, or would they be placed on the tables at the seat you assign them?  If it is the former, I'm not sure how I feel about lots of people walking around carrying cupcakes all at once.

As for the sticky paper circles - I'd probably just use stickers.  You can order personalized stickers online, and get them printed in your colours or with your monogram or logo or something.  Try The Knot's wedding shop first,, and check VIstaprint.  Other than those I can't think of another reputable online vendor for stickers at the moment but I know there are lots so you can google around and see what you find.

If you don't need them to be fancy, just go to a stationery store (Staples, OfficeDepot) and pick up some address labels.  They come in all different shapes and sizes, mostly rectangular and square.  And you can either run them through your laser printer or write on them with your own markers/calligraphy pens.

You could also use double sides tape? I don't know how much I would like to try to align stickers back to back, I've done this before and if the sticker is too thin it gets pretty tedious.
