Your favorite and/or most unique wedding favor??

What was your most favorite and/or unique wedding favor? Looking for ideas for a winter wedding that won't go to waste? I think everyone has enough candles and holders! lol

Thanks!

I like candy bars. I'm doing a photobooth and people can take their pictures.
For winter wedding specific, I think hot cocoa cones would be cute: http://www.favorstudio.com/personalizedcouplescocoacone.aspx

Not sure what your budget is, but you can make these yourself.

The best wedding favour I ever got was a wine bottle stopper. I use it all the time. (Well, that is, I did before I was pg!)

They must've been kinda pricey though. On a smaller budget, I always appreciate edible favours. That being said, I don't really care about them that much and don't miss them when there are none.

We used photo coasters because we wanted something that people wouldn't throw away or never use (and that was cost efficient). I think edible favors are a good idea as I have attended a few weddings that offered this. At least you know that your favors are being put to good use and they are cost effiecient!

We gave out plain white bistro mugs filled with single serving coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, plus hershey's kisses.   That might be something to try for a winter wedding - feels cozy, and chocolate is always good!

I have never taken much notice to favours. There are usually truffles, candy bars, or one was kind of unique: it was a photo of the couple in a mini-frame but the frame was cute. Last year my friends donated money to a couple of charities that are close to their hearts. They had this written somewhere on the tables... and they made sure to include a nice photo in their thank you card. My FI and I are going to be doing this.

We are giving little jars of wildflower honey with a label that matches our invites...probably more of a summer favour though.  A friend of mine who is getting married in November is giving little cones of hot chocolate (as was suggested), but she found adorable little tiny whisks to tie to them, they look really cute!

I also love edible favours. We received little jars of apple butter at a fall wedding once. Those were the best! (Lasted way longer than a couple of only so-so truffles, that may or may not contain that toxic stuff known as peanut butter.) The town the couple was from and where there reception was held is known for their apple mill, so it was perfect.

We are doing little evergreen seedlings with a tag about planting it and watching our love "grow" throughout the years.  They're from a Canadian (Ontario or Manitoba, I forget) company.

This past year I have had 2 weddings with little homemade jams - one blueberry cinnamon, and the other roasted red pepper - both INCREDIBLE - great gift idea!

We are opting to do a big candy bar- little bags/boxes will be sitting at each place setting so guests can take what they'd enjoy most! We may also do gourmet candy apples from Rocky Mountain Candy Co. They have a variety of great stuff!

Littlin  You just read my mind!

I was reading this post again and was thinking about how I could possibly encorporate my garden into the wedding  -maybe I'll make a batch of red pepper jelly or raspberry jam to give away!  Depending on the cost, because we really want to give to some charities that we are involved with.

I'm going with edible, because I've seen way too many expensive favours be left behind, or taken home to just gather dust them be tossed.  IE - my parents really didn't have a use for 2 wine glasses with someone else's name and wedding date on them.
I'm hoping to get jelly bellies, if not, some other type of "candy bar"  type candy, but only in favour boxes on the tables.  Maybe a bowl or two of extra on the side, we'll see what happens.

    My favourite wedding favours were:
    1. gold chopsticks (engraved with the couple's initials)
    2. jars filled with the couple's favourite salsa

We'll be giving burlap sachels with my fiance's grandfather's infamous oatmeal cookie mix and the recipe along with it.
