Wedding Venues in Durham/York Region?!

Hi,

I am new here and found this site while googling for reception venues.
I would appreciate any help you can offer!

We are looking for a reception venue in York or Durham Region....I will narrow it down even more....to Stouffville, Aurora, Uxbridge, Claremont areas. Looking for something besides a Golf Course! We would not be opposed to something casual and/or rustic!

We are planning to get married in December 2012 so I have just started looking but have been unable to find something other than golf courses. We are planning on around 150 guests.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hey:)

My sister god married at Black Creek Pioneer Village a few years ago.... It is so rustic-classy-chic! The old houses and shops make a GORGEOUS backdrop for photographs. They also have a little pioneer chapel!! It is beautiful :)

Another place I have heard rave reviews about is Ajax Convention Centre..I know you did not specify Ajax as a top pick, but the convention centre is only a couple of years old. It is very nice inside, but more modern and far from a rustic feel.

    Hope that helps:)
Best wishes on planning your sepcial day:)

We are getting married at Oakview Terrace (Stouffville Rd. and Leslie).  Its a one stop shop with a cute little chapel for the ceremony and the reception hall.  We love it and its york region and not a golf course.

    Good luck

Ajax Convention Centre is very nice inside.  You could have your ceremony inside the chapel of Trafalgar Castle in Whitby and then the ACC for the reception.

We looked at the Kortright Centre when we were trying to find our venue.  It was gorgeous!  It was just a bit too far for our guests (we're in Newmarket and don't want everyone to have to stay in a hotel if they have some drinks).  I even saw it on an episode of Rich Bride Poor Bride one day.  They have an area called the Glass House which is amazing.  And the prices were totally reasonable.  Definetly worth checking out.

DItto on Oakview Terrace, we are also getting married there. Beautiful well-kept gardens and grounds, overlooking a private lake, has its own outdoor chapel, and reception hall with adjoining patio balcony that overlooks the lake and gardens.
