Re: Ritchie bridal sale January 12-15

  • I went yesterday and it was fantastic! There were hundreds of dresses and the discounts were steep! I actually found my dress there.

I walked home with a brand new, beautiful Alfred Sung gown for 50% off retail. It wasn't even a sample, it was brand new and had just arrived in store the day before.

    Anyone else have any luck?

  • Hi JennyB0825

I also bought my dress there - a beautiful Enzoani dress, brand new, I could not believe how much I saved !
  • My brother's fiance got her dress there too!  An Enzoani as well :)

Does anyone know if there is a similar sale (doesn't have to be Ritchie's) that takes place in the summer or fall?  I am getting married June 2013 and am on a tight budget, so a sale like this would be ideal for my shopping experience.  I just worry that if I wait until the January 2013 Ritchie sale and I don't find a dress, it would be REALLY tight to shop, find, and order another dress from a traditional store.

  • Congratulations futuremssweets! I'm sure it's just beautiful! Great score!

JennLaz, I would imagine that septemeber would be a good time for the sales. The big bridal shows are typically in Jan and September and from what I saw at Canada's bridal show, most dress vendors set up sample sales immediately after.

I can't say for sure that's how that works, but it would be my guess that all vendors at the bridal shows would use the time at the show to talk to a targetted audience, and then set up the sale to get brides through the door.
  • JennLax - try The Bride's Project - they're a charity bridal salon where 75% of their dresses are donated by local bridal salons and the other 25% are gently used dresses. The proceeds of the sale go towards one of the women's charities like Breast Cancer, etc.  Prices of dresses ranges from $300-$1250 tops.

Other bridal shops that are inexpensive - try Your White Dress on Orfus road, dresses are $500 or less.  Elizabeth Stuart bridal in Missisauga.  David's Bridal is pretty inexpensive as well.  Hope that helps.
