Venue for a smallish wedding? 120-140 people

I feel like I am running out of options for a reception venue. We are expecting 120-140 guests and most venues that we have looked it have a 150 minimum. Any suggestions?

What area of the GTA are you looking to book in?

if you are willing to trim your lista bit the Arts and Letters club is where we booked. max 110 guests but its beautiful, downtown and the event guy Jospeh is a dream to work with.

Anywhere in the gta really. I would prefer to stay away from downtown .

There's a few venues in Vaughan, if you're will to head that way - The Royalton, The Paramount has smaller venues.  Have you tried the Golf Clubs?  There's also the Berkeley Church/Field House - the Field House can accomodate up to 150 guests and you can bring in your own alcohol.

Not sure what your budget is either - there's the Rotary Glen in Brampton - I think they have an off-season wedding special of $99 per person including DJ, Cake and invitations.

You can also try the higher end restaurants - they may be able to accomodate you or hotels like the Hilton or the Courtyard Marriott.

    Does that help?

If you head out west the Harbour Banquet Centre in Oakville is great, prices are $100-$140 pp and less in the off season.  I think their max was 150 so definitely suits your numbers.

The Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington is fabulous, prices are also in the $120-$140 pp range and they have a few different rooms of various sizes that would suit you.

Clublink golf courses have great food and great service and there are courses/banquet halls all over the GTA. Their halls are typically in the <150 person range.

The heinztman house (sp?) - gorgeous! i've done makeup for  a few brides there so i've been in there - seen the decor etc.. its stunning. one had around 100 guests, another had closer to 200 so it can work for your guest list...it is stunning in there!

My venue fits 120 comfortably, 140 as max - it's called Heintzman House in Markham/Thornhill area.

The St. Lawrence Great Hall fits 150 at most with dance floor, 200 without & there isnt a minimum requirement either.

The Grand Metropolitan of Mississauga (formerly Pavilion Royale). They accomodate all sizes (no minimum amount) and are reasonably priced

Try Miller Lash as well. It's beautiful.

Thanks for the ideas :) My top choice right now is the paramount even though I do not 100% love there smaller rooms upstairs. The grand metropolitan does have a minimum and it's 150.

Try Rosewater Room downtown.  Gorgeous venue and great packages, with big discounts for off season.  They've been a dream to work with so far.

If you love the venue and the minimum is 150 and you have 140 (or less) then just ask them if you can increase your package - add an extra soup course, upgrade from chicken to beef, spend a bit more money per person so it evens out.  When they set a minimum of 150 people that's just so that they bring in a certain amount of money.

Sorry about that - I guess since they changed their name and are under new management they now have new rules. For what it's worth, it's a really nice venue.
