Wedding Venues, Durham Region Area!!!

Hello Brides...

I need some help finding a decent wedding venue in the Durham Region, I am also willing to look in the Barrie/Collingwood area .... any suggestions... room size doesn't matter as long as it will hold up to 80 ppl with dance floor (the list can always get cut down) the ideal venue would be 100 - 160 ppl with dance floor, and with a decent price.  ---- also any ideas on open bar??????????

    The Lake House in Pickering is beautiful - my parents are from Pickering and we definitely looked there.  We both live in the city and FI's family is from Oakville, so Toronto was our best bet, but had we chose Durham, we would have picked that location.

    Deer Creek Golf Course is another common location in that area.

    Cullen Gardens in Whitby, beautiful hall for the wedding & gardens for pictures and/or ceremony!! It's really inexpensive.

    I wanted to book the lake house but they were filling up faster than I could get there.  It loooks beautiful from the website

    I'm from Ajax and I've been to some weddings at Deer Creek. I like the outdoor ceremony site and the main room inside is really nice for a reception.  My sister is using the Ajax Convention Centre as a reception site.  It's new and the layout inside is nice for guests mingling before entering the room.

    I just wish Durham had more nice outdoor ceremony sites.  The only thing I don't like about the lakehouse is there is no room outside there.  It's squished against the water.

    Check out Parkwood Estates in Oshawa. It's the Robert McLaughlin mansion which is a historical site and museum now, but there are weddings there all the time. We're having our pictures done on the beautiful grounds there. They do ceremonies and tented receptions for weddings and other functions too. They are online if you google search them.  Our reception is taking place at Lake View Park Jubilee Pavillion Banquet and Conference Centre in Oshawa. We researched and interviewed with a lot of venues for about a month before we chose our final venue for our wedding. Obviously we think these were the best choices! Good luck with your mission!!
