Good morning!

It's a gorgeous sunny day here after we got monsooned on the past couple of days!

Nothing new here really.....  Just still finishing up the last bits of grad school work!

Good morning! Still pretty rainy here. I'm technically on grad school "summer break", but going crazy trying to arrange last-minute observation hours before I start my clinic assignment in a couple weeks!

Good morning!  I'm trying to get settled at work.  I might or might not finally see patients in my new clinic on Thursday.  **fingers crossed that my new computer will be delivered by then**

Another gorgeous day here.  Drove in with the top down.  Getting the spring we didn't have.  Too bad I have to work today and tonight.

Morning ladies! It is also gorgeous here!  I just met with the previous French teacher of the school I am going to be teaching at.  I will be teaching all day kindergarten plus some French when I have time (which who knows when that will be).  But it's a small private school so I am hoping to be okay.  It's always fun seeing my classroom but I found out how scattered and unorganized the French program is at this school.  I found out that I will be lucky if I get my students for 2 hours a week.  Crazy!  This is giong to be a challenge!

Good Morning!!  I'm jealous of everyone's beautiful days -- it looks like it might rain here today.  Although after a few weeks of 100 degree days, it's ok with me to have some scattered showers throughout the day.

Chelsea -- that's so cool that you speak French!  I'm always super impressed by people who can master a foreign language.  I studied Latin and Spanish for 4 years each and I was terrible at both lol.

Good afternoon :) It's beautiful here. I wish I could bottle this weather and save it for December-March. FI and I work in the same building and he was in town today so we had lunch together and sat outside. He travels all the time so it's the little things like this that make me happy :) We're meeting with our priest tonight to go over the ceremony, ideas for the homily and I'm hoping he will give the thumbs up for our program so I can start assembling those suckers! I feel so blessed to have our priest. He is a good friend of FIs family and is just and all around amazing person :) Lol - I'm all sunshine, kittens, and rainbows today! Hope everyone is having a great day :)

Hey that's really similar to what my DH did... his research was on polymerization of silicone oils for his PhD (Chemical Engineering).

Hi all! Today I took LO to the doctor for his 1-month checkup (I can't believe he's already a month old!) He is doing great, right on track for growth. Next checkup he'll be getting his first shots.

Nice!  I do some synthesis, but I'm more materials analysis-based.

And, I don't really consider myself smarter cause I have a Ph.D.  More like I was insane enough to do it.......  I think the number of degrees you possess is directly proportional to your level of insanity.  So really, with 3, I'm up sh!t's creek!  Unfortunately for me, if you want to be anything more than a drone in the chemical industry, you need a Ph.D. Such is life.

P.S. - Is baby ringy behaving better?

I agree!!  Same with bio.  I was a tech for a year after getting my master's... and my boss said I either needed to go back to school for a Ph.D. or get out of science b/c I would never make a good tech (b/c she sensed I didn't take orders well)!

    Hello all!

So far, today is going well.  Yesterday was an overall challenge.  I didn't feel like I'd slept much at all, was cranky when I did get up, Assumption Mass only barely helped the mood there.  Tea didn't wake me up.  I was feeling very challenged in some decisions I had made (that I knew were for the good), and just... done.  Once I took a walk mid-afternoon yesterday and offered up some of the more persistant challenges, my mind cleared quite a bit.  A good night's rest also helped bring me to a morning where seeing the blessings is at least a little easier.

@KatieAnne - that cake looks dangerously delicious!

I call myself different things depending on who I'm talking to.  If I really don't want to talk to someone, I call myself a chemist.  If I'm talking to someone who I don't mind talking to, I say Polymer Scientist/Engineer.  I only throw out the macromolecular word in front of professors and stuff.

Baby ringy is doing good! He had a few really fussy nights but has settled down for now. Every day I'm learning more about him. He's approaching the 6-week growth spurt though so I'm gearing up for a few crazy days soon.
