Friday Friday!

Good morning, y'all!  Hope everyone's having a great day!

I just got back to Dallas from OKC.  Drove up last night, unloaded some boxes from my apartment, slept, then got up and drove back.  Very tired.  But today's the last day of school!  And my last weekend in the apartment!  Yay!

What's everyone else up to?

Re: Friday Friday!

  • My weekend is pretty eventful, actually.  It's my first Creighton follow-up tonight.  I'm looking forward to it because I definitely have some questions now that I've been charting.  I'm sure she'll have plenty of corrections!

Then Sunday is my shower!!!!  I'm SOOOO excited for it.  I've thrown more showers than I can count (easily over 20), so it's just so strange being on the other side of it.  I'm a little nervous about opening gifts in front of people.  I mean, even if I absolutely love a gift, it's still possible that I might appear a bit apathetic, and I really don't want to seem that way.  But at the same time, I don't want to seem overly excited for, say, dish towels, you know?

  • Sounds like you two have good weekends planned!  I bet you're excited to move out professor!  And Resa, just have fun.  As long as you say thank you and smile, everyone will really think you appreciated your gift. I'm really excited for you, I know for me the shower was really fun :o)

AFM- FI and I have our engaged encounter this weekend and I am really excited!  Keep us in your prayers please that this will be a good learning experience for us :o)

  • Have fun at your shower Resa!

I'm excited for this weekend.  My hair trial and (hopefully) last dress fitting are tomorrow.  Then my brother graduates high school on Sunday.
  • Sounds like lots of action-filled weekends coming up - I hope everyone enjoys them!

Resa - I hope your Creighton follow-up goes well!  I just had my first follow-up a few days ago, my teacher definitely had some corrections but it helped me a lot to go through everything, and she was able to help me clear up some of my confusion on observations and how to interpret them.  I definitely feel more confident for my next meeting!

Nothing special planned for this weekend - getting off work early, dropping off our FOCCUS tests, vet appointment, dinner/drinks with a friend.  Not that I'm complaining at all, I'm actually looking forward to a more relaxing weekend.  I definitely need to give myself a break after last weekend when FI's brothers visited - I love hanging out with those guys, but MAN can they drink! :)
  • Friend's birthday tonight and bach party tomorrow night! Man I'm so excited. My family starts coming in on Tuesday, so I reeeeallly gotta get some cleaning done.

  • Shawna -- prayers!!  I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it.  It's totally the kind of thing where you get out of it what you put into it.  If you have a good attitude about it, and actually pay attention and all that jazz, I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it :)

Erin -- I'm glad your follow-up went well!  I know I'm confused on certain things, but there are probably other things I think I'm doing right that I'm not doing right, you know?  So I'm actually kind of looking forward to having the oblivious mistakes pointed out!

Chels and Cait2 -- your big days are coming up just around the corner!!!  I will definitely be looking to you two for calming word in about 5 weeks, okay?

  • Thanks Resa!

  • Everyone is probably gone for the day, but, hi everyone!
I am drinking port and making pierogi from scratch -
yum! It's gonna be a nice night!
DH wanted me to think of something to do tonight, and I've been hearing my Catholic friends talk about this movie "For Greater Glory," and it looks like somethign that we should definitely go see, even if to just support. (We NEVER go to the movie theater!) But the only show close to us is like 7:15, which is annoyingly early, and would make dinner rushed. :-( I'll ask him when he gets home. (I hate how movies do that- I know it's so they can squeeze another movie in at 9:30 or 10ish or so, but that is SO late I would never go to a movie that late! I wish more movies started at 8, 8:30ish!)

That sounds delicious!  I may have to give that a try, I love pierogi but have never been adventurous enough to make them from scratch.
