Program-Worship Aid

My church is making programs for us because they say it's more of a worship aid. We are allowed to write a few things to put in the last page or so. I have the wedding party's names' but they won't let me write anything about them.

What else should I add? Maybe a thank you to everyone celebrating our day?

That stinks they won't let you write the relation of your WP to you guys. Our church had to proof-read our programs before we could print them.

We had a thank you section at the end of our programs. We also wrote "reception to immediately follow." I also included an "In Memory" section for our relatives that have gone before us.

What a bummer that you can create your own!  Like pp's, we had our priest review ours to ensure we had the correct order.  We included a few lines for "We Remember (friends and family who have passed away)," "To our Parents" and "To our Family and Friends"

Our church is making ours as well and there won't be any super detailed info in there about wedding party, family, etc.  I was a bit bummed about not being able to personalize them as much, but got over it when it was one less thing I had to worry about!

Instead, we'll be doing the thank you card thing in lieu of a menu at the reception at each place, memorial candles at the family heritage table and verbal thank you's in the speeches as well!  We'll also be remembering deceased family members in our prayers of the faithful during Mass

We were able to do our own programs, but the church had to review it.

In addition to the stuff you mentioned, we had a thank you section, and an "In memory of" section (listed all deceased grandparents), and a section that both invited people to the parish hall for refreshments following the ceremony as well as driving directions to the reception site.

We did  programs but no one ever asked if we were doing them or to see them beforehand.
