Payment

Hi- I have never posted on here before, just lurked a little, but I have a question about payment.
The priest from our church is traveling to a church closer to our reception venue to officiate- about 1 hour away. Obviously, I have to pay the fees at the church we are using and that will all total over $1000, my question is about paying my own priest, normally to use the church is $425, do I pay that whole fee even though we are not using the church or do I pay a portion (I was thinking $250)? TIA

A donation to the priest is appropriate, but the whole fee associated with using the home church is unnecessary (since that includes use of the facility, utilities, etc.). $250 would be lovely and generous.

I would ask.  The wedding coordinator at the church where we were married knew what the fee was for the priest who celebrated (not the "regular' priest there).
