First of all -- Congratulations!!!!

Secondly, it's scary how much your story sounded like mine.  We were only married for 5 months.  Used NFP for those 5 months.  We avoided in the beginning because we were unsure about DH's job and how the company was going.  Then realized we could make do without his income if it came down to it, but then I was still unsure -- slightly terrified. Until I realized all the reasons I had were truly selfish. For instance, I wanted to go on vacation and ride some rollercoasters.  You can't be pregnant and ride rollercoasters. Totally completely 100% selfish.

So DH and I had a long discussion about what was holding us back, and about how selfish I felt I was being, and how we really had no reason to avoid.  We also got pregnant on the first cycle that we stopped avoiding   And I couldn't be more thrilled.

Good grief - what the heck is my problem with not seeing certain threads lately?  I congratulated you in the other thread - but yayyeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

Side note - catarntina - you are so close!  Yay!  And, I totally hear you about the roller coasters thing.  We want to go to Disney World one more time pre-kids, but we want to go at the beginning of December again, which means we probably won't be trying until at least a year from now.  Part of me wants to say nevermind to Disney, but the selfish side of me really wants to go ride all those coasters one more time before I have to spend all of my time hunting down Mickey and Minnie and hanging out in Fantasyland!

Congrats, Bibli!!!!!!  I must say, FI and I have pretty much agreed that as long as finances are pretty stable, we may start trying very soon after the wedding.

oh, and @docta - the disney parks will generally give a pass to parents so one can go on a coaster while the other waits with the kids, then the second gets front of the line access.  it's a bit of a pain, but it's an option.  I went with my sis and her kids to disneyland once and it worked out OK.

Thanks so much for sharing your discernment process in the other thread (and Riss, too)... DH and I are struggling with that right now, too.  Part of me wants to throw caution to the wind and just trust in God... but DH is still a bit hesitant since he won't finish school for another year!
