Catholic Weddings

Catholic wedding photography

So I just booked my date at Annunciation for February 2 :-)

Curious if any other Catholic girls hired Evoke photography. I was thinking they have some great packages, but not many church photos in their portfolio. Although it looks like they have photographed in just about every church I can think of in Houston.

Re: Catholic wedding photography

  • I've never heard of them, but some of the Houston girls here may have. You might want to check to make sure they understand the expectations some Catholic churches place on photographers. Some don't allow photography during certain parts of the ceremony, and others are more lenient.

It would bother me a little if the photographer didn't seem to have a lot of pictures of one part of the ceremonies they shoot. Have you asked them if you can see a complete wedding from start to finish?

  • Congrats!! I'm a future Houston bride too. Haven't picked my photographer but Evoke is on my list, in part because of that giant list of everywhere they've photographed. Their website gives me the impression that they have filies on these things so they can keep track of restrictions at different venues, but I'd definitely want to ask and if possible, see if you can see something from at least a Catholic wedding, if not your precise church?

I haven't looked at any photographers yet... I have no idea what I'd even ask! Some of the other girls will probably be more helpful :)

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Catholic wedding photography : Fudge I just saw that your wedding is the same day as mine. D'oh! Let me see if I can think of others. I was the liturgy coordinator for a wedding at Annunciation a few years ago and the photographer didn't have the proper level of respect for the Nuptial Mass. Anohter friend of mine is having a Houston Catholic wedding (St John Vianney) and is using this photographer: www.mystorykeeper.
