Invitation Wording

Hey ladies!  We are getting ready to order our invitations, but we haven't decided on the wording yet.  I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share what you're using/used or if you have any suggestions.  We are having a full mass if that helps.  TIA

Hi Katie, if you send me a private message with your email address, i'll send you a copy of my invitation!  I have a copy of it in my bio but it's sooo small, i'm not sure if you would be able to read it.

Thank you so much!  I'd really appreciate that.  But how do I send a private message?  LOL, I'm a little behind on learning all of this Knot.com stuff!

    we did:

JLP and PAM request the honor of your presence at their marriage in the sacrament of holy matrimony and the celebration of the nuptial mass

many use banana's wording, but that indicates that the Mass is what marries you and its not technically correct.  the Mass is said for you as a couple, but it doesnt actually marry you, which is why you can have a catholic wedding without mass.

I consulted our priest on this one, because I wanted to make sure we had it right. This is what he suggested:

    Together with their parents

    Bride
    and
    Groom

request the honour of your presence
    at their Nuptial Mass
As they are joined in the Sacrament of Marriage

    Absolutely true.

However the Nuptial portion of the 'Nuptial Mass' is what tells the invited guest that the bride and groom will be united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.

It also tells the invited guest to plan for the hour.

    Our wording was:

    [Bride's parents]
    and [groom's parents]
request the honor of your presence
    at the Nuptial Mass
    at which their children
    [Bride]
    and
    [Groom]
will be united in Holy Matrimony
    [Date, Time, Church]

I wrote our invitations and they say:

    God has led two lives
    to take one path
    Bride's Name
    and
    Groom's Name
    together with their parents
invite you to witness their vows
    on Date
    at Time in the evening
    St. Mary Church
    Cincinnati, OH

We are paying for the wedding together with both of our parents so we thought this verse seemed appropriate.  Hope it helps!
    Due date: July 22, 2012!
