Prayer of the Faithful Petitions...

It was brought up last night during our meeting with Fr. Bob about my FI and I doing the reading of our Petiitions. My FI is all for it, but I dont do well with public speaking...even if its our family and friends. What are your thoughts?

Ooooh, I couldn't do it...I'll be lucky if I get through the wedding, much less anything extra...and I usually cantor at my church! I just want to focus on God and my husband to be...

FI and I are planning to do the Readings because we feel it would allow us to more actively participate in the Liturgy.  We're hoping to have my godmother do the Prayer of the Faithful but haven't asked her yet.

We are having family members do them along with readings so that we can have as many people be involved with the ceremony as possible.  We have big families and it means a lot for us to have as many people participate

Personally, I couldn't do it...I was my mom's "back up" reader at my grandma's funeral in case she couldn't do it at the last minute...it kinda freaked me out.  And I have no problems with public speaking normally (i.e at work, class).  I don't want anymore added stress on the wedding haha

I hate public speaking, so this would just make the wedding so much more stressful to me. No way. I had my brother and his fiance (now wife) do the petitions.

I guess we could have read them ourselves, but we had so many people that we wanted involved in the wedding that we had a friend do it.

We had my cousin read the prayers of the faithful.  One of two of the prayers were directed at us, so it seemed more natural for someone else to read them.  For example, "For Sara and Andrew, that their love may continue to grow and deepen each day..."
