Need a venue in Newville/Carlisle/Shippensburg area

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and currently live here with my fiance who is from Newville, Pa.  Initially we were trying to look for wedding venues between Pittsburgh and Newville, but we haven't been able to find anything to suit our needs or price range.  I know that it will more expensive for my FI family to travel to Pgh and pay to stay in a hotel here then it would be for my family to travel to his hometwon, so now we're looking into venues in central Pa.  

My finace is from Newville and so is the majoirty of his fmaily, but I'm open to looking into venues in Carlisle and Shippensburg too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated : )

    We have an appointment next week to see the Park Inn in Mechanicsburg which I heard great things about from a co-worker who got married there last fall. We are also going to check out the Sheraton on Lindle road and some of the country clubs.

    I've never been there, but I've heard good things about The Orchards restaurant in Chambersburg.

    I'm having my wedding at the Park Inn next year.  I thought that they would be out of my price range as my FI and I are paying for most of our wedding, but they were very accommodating.  The gentleman who helped us is named Joe Spadolini.  He is very nice and goes through all details with you.  They seem very professional and the ceremony site (outside courtyard) looks beautiful.  Check them out!!!  Here is his email: SpadoliniJ@gfhotels.com

    Check out the Ribbon Factory in Carlisle...georgeous hard wood floors!  I love that place.  We are getting married at the Holiday Inn in New Cumberland, just south of Carlisle.  Also...check out the Whispering Pines.  Beautiful for outdoor weddings.  They do receptions too.  Or, in Newville, the Carriage Haus is nice.

    I second Carriage Haus... I'm from nearby Shippensburg and had many social events there. The service and food are fantastic!
