Wednesday!

It's another beautiful day here!

My life is pretty much the same as yesterday, although there is a sufficiently nerdy Google doodle today for Pierre de Fermat's birthday :).

My life is becoming slightly exciting--- I'm meeting with someone today who is going on maternity leave and wants to give me a very ideal job for about 3 months! woo hoo!

And also...there is a peacock that lives outside FI's window, across the street. Actually, there is two I think. Have you ever heard a peacock? They are the loudest, most obnoxious things. At all hours of the day or night. I usually HATE winter, but I cannot wait for it to be cold enough for the peacocks to go inside or wherever they went last winter...

    oh, and it's white--

Haha, one of our good friends grew up out in Ashland (an hour-ish down I-71 from Cleveland), and they used to have peacocks wander onto their property all the time.  He HATES peacocks now.

And your new job is in Cleveland, lala?

Well, I probably shouldn't say yet cuz it's so tentative, but yeah, it will be in one of the south-eastern suburbs. :-)

haha, I totally feel for your friend. I will definitely loathe peacocks for the rest of my life!

    ETA-- I mean south-west.

Good morning ladies!  It is slightly boring at work today, I have a task to blast out emails to hundreds of people. And I am procrastinating because chances are they are just going to ignore the email and not reply with the needed information.

Anyway, I posted in my local board about a photographer I wanted to use and if anyone had any reviews. I made the comment that he was great for my price point but wasn’t fantastic (I can’t afford fantastic!).  One of the ladies responded with “No need to sacrifice your photography...that's what lasts the longest from your wedding.”   Maybe it was just me, but I thought my marriage would last longer than the photography.  Tongue out

LOL well even if you stay together the rest of your lives, those photos will outlive you, so she did have a point...
That was the splurge of our wedding.  I do photography too, so I knew I would spend the day worrying if we didn't get a photographer we trusted.  Our photographer is a guy who we went to high school with.  He is FANTASTIC, but still pricey.. about $1600 when all is said and done, which is a lot for here.

Lala, it's such a shame such beautifu creature is so annoying.

Nothing extra exciting today, just 10 hours of work.  I'm really tired today, I was up late and didn't sleep well at all.  I'm hoping to get some housework done tonight and go to bed early.

Is it WYD week or the week before WYD?(when I went to Sydney the week before WYD we were sent to different dioceses  to learn about the culture. )  I don't know if that was just the group I went with or everyone did that..It would be much better if she got sick the first week, wouldn't miss as much.

Amanda--I feel you. My photographer was right for our budget, but I was really really worried because he wasn't "fantastic" as you said. Or at least, I didn't know because weddings aren't his primary business and he didn't have a lot of samples for me to see. BUT I absolutely LOVE the photos he took, I think they turned out great! I hope you're just as happy with yours!

lalaith--I didn't know peacocks were kept as pets? And that there are white peacocks? So pretty! But sorry its so annoying :(

My day will be ok... took my car to get the windows fixed. Original problem solved, second problem discovered so car's still at the shop. I also need to take it somewhere else afterwards for a catalytic conductor problem?? and a tire is flat. And its due for inspection. Ugh.

Amanda-- It looks like WYD is happening right now. The pope is arriving tomorrow.

KatieAnne- Well, it's kept more like a farm animal in this case. I guess the story is that this farm guy sold a bunch of his property to this subdivision development, as this suburb is growing, BUT, I assume that he got to keep his "farm status" or whatever for his own property since he's been here so long (which happens to border ours...grr...) cuz there is no way you would be able to keep animals like that normally in a town! There must be a noise ordinance or something!

<p>Good morning everyone!  Today is a good day... a lot less crazy that earlier this week.  I'm getting trained on new software (Revit) that we'll be using for design projects in the afternoons and it is pretty awesome compared to AutoCAD... just a bit overwhelming considering I've accumulated 6 years of school/work experience using CAD instead, so it's a lot to process.  It's also been a bit challenging to cram in as much billable work as possible before the 4 hour training sessions!  Thankfully, I have a dinner with some good college friends to look forward to...  Neapolitan Pizza out on a patio to enjoy a beautiful summer!

Woohoo!!!  Good luck with the job prospect!

Peacocks are super obnoxious... my husband's family lives next door to a property with them, too, and since it's out in the country... there's at least some space between them to buffer them from the creatures.  I really don't understand the point of having them as pets or whatever they're supposed to be... that white one sure is ostentatious!

Lalaith - I used to live near a zoo (like, you could see the zoo from the backyard). Their peacocks roam free and sometimes get out. They would run down the street and squawk and the zookeepers had to come and collect them. I think God made them beautiful to counter how annoying they are.

Yeah, my H is a mechanical engineer.  He got appointed as the official Matlab programmer for his department, and they sent him out to an actual training and stuff in California even though he already knew the basics.  4 straight days of Matlab?  Barf!  (Now, don't get me wrong, I like the concepts of graphics and programming, and I've always wanted to like them throughout my education, but they make my head hurt way too much.)

Yeah, I can't get into the doctor until next week (H called several for me, including the one I used before I moved and they won't take my insurance) and I hate the emergency rooms. Even if they tell me to not work, I still have to work. I don't have a choice. I don't get any PTO yet since I haven't been here 90 days and H still hasn't found work. I am beginning to think this was a bad idea moving back.

Gorgeous, but yeah...I've heard peacocks, and they must be hideous to live next to.

For me, today...I spent pretty much the whole day in one meeting or another. The rest of the time I was trying to get ahold of the telephone people so we can reschedule again, for them to bury our phone line, as we have been trying to get them to do for over a year. Very frustrating.

BUT, it's less than two months til our big day! I so can't wait!!!

Good evening, ladies!  Glad to hear everyone's good news.  (And Missy, being in pain is not good news.  I hope you are well again, soon!)

I have been working nonstop lately, with barely any time to sit at my computer (which I suppose is good since I'm going to have to be out of the habit of Knotting at Noon by Monday).  But whenever I think I am swamped, something happens to remind me how much more I could have on my plate.  At inservice, one of our former student teachers (now a full-time teacher at our Alternative School) showed up looking SUPER PREGNANT.  When someone asked her when she was due, she responded, "Tomorrow."  WOW!  Most teachers go on leave like a week before their baby is due, and she showed up for inservice?  I was blown away.

Aaaaand we just had our priest over for dinner, and despite being exceptionally stressed all day yesterday and today, it went over really well.  I don't know why I was so worried, but now I know how FMIL feels in the hours leading up to a dinner party.
    Anniversary
