Jitters?

Those of you who are already married, did you start to get serious jitters a couple of days before? Not nervous about the marriage, but about everyone arriving safely and lodging being ready and people getting fed and so on and so forth. Plus my FI's and my families are somewhat different - they're a bit more restrained than my family is (we can be quite rambunctious!) and I'm hoping they'll all get along (especially his mother, who is a bit of a 'Zilla though very good-hearted).

nope, but i had a full blown panic attack in the church basement 30 minutes before.the good thing is that the second we walked down the aisle, i felt an incredible peace and happiness.  i truly think God intervened.

I had the jitters about 2 weeks before the wedding. I think mine happened early because the IL's were going into town for an entire week befor the wedding with additional family and I was just so nervous about getting everything done that for the days before the wedding.

It looks like your big day is fast approaching. Take a breath, enjoy the day, take moments to look around and enjoy and find a few minutes to be with your H after the ceremony.

I was extremely anxious the week before the wedding and was getting very snappy with people.  If I heard one more person say to me "don't worry everything will just work out" I was going to scream.  The morning of the wedding I was fine...my friends kept saying how calm I was....Probably because there was nothing I could do at that point.  I did give my photographer and florist a huge hug when I saw them  because I was just so happy they were there! haha  I was nervous waiting in the room and I felt my stomach flip when the church cooridnator came in and said are you ready? but when I started walking down the aisle everything was fine.  I did start to cry when I saw my husband and during the vows, but other than that I was just smiling a lot and my normal self.

I refuse to tell almost brides that "everything will just fall into place" because that annoyed me the most, but I would say just try and enjoy everything as much as possible.  I know that's hard because you want the day to be perfect...but it will be!

The Thursday before the wedding, I was a mess. I was stressed, I was nervous, I was feeling like there were still a million things to do and no time to do them. Friday, my H and I met for daily mass first thing in the morning and then I went home and had a day of relaxing planned. I had lunch and did nails with my girls and then had the rehearsal. There was some drama at the rehearsal that made H and I a bit nervous for the wedding, but it all worked out fine.

After dinner, my bff and sister stayed overnight with me and we drank soda (my stress killer) and took goofy pictures with my sister's iPad that had us laughing hysterically and melted the stress away.

Short answer long, by Saturday, the nerves and stress had vanished and I had a wonderful, memorable, as close as possible to perfect wedding day.

I was a bit stressed leading up to the wedding. The RD really gave me the jitters. And of course I could sleep that night. I was freaking out about things going smoothly, not forgetting what I was supossed to do during the ceremony and that my Mom wouldn't embarrass me or make an as$ out of herself. But my MIL did a great job of reassuring me that it wasn't my job to worry about any of that even though it was easier said than done.

A lot of deep breathing helped me, too.

My aunt and uncle made it here from Seattle today, which was so wonderful. Since they got here early, I got to visit with them a bit. It was lovely, and I wish I would've had more time.

We had one mini-crisis this week, because we hadn't thought about how the alcohol would be served, and about liability insurance. (Odd since my sweetie is a retired lawyer.) But we were able to get the insurance taken care of very quickly. Our caterer/wedding coordinator assured us she could provide a bartender, but yesterday she said the bartenders from their usual company were all booked (of course - October is such a busy wedding month here) but promised she could find someone. However, when I texted and emailed her today to confirm she had found someone, she texted back and said she was catering for 750 and would get back to me...which she never did.

So I'm trying to just trust God and not worry...but I suspect it won't be easy to sleep tonight...

I had the jitters when I got to the church and my BMs were helping me into my dress.  My jitters went away completely when I was walking down the aisle and looking straight at my husband.

Linda, happy wedding weekend! I'm so excited for you!

I was really nervous the whole day before--could barely eat, snapping at everyong... it didn't help that the ceiling of the reception hall was leaking or that I realized that day that I put the wrong address for the reception on the invitations. I wasn't too bad the morning of, at least until we got into the car to drive to the church! But then I found myself talking football to my dad to try to ease HIS jitters lol. Then I was really stressed between the ceremony and the reception--I really regret that. We were behind schedule, the groomsmen were just goofing off and not paying attention to what they were supposed to be doing, and when I called my mom at the reception hall to let her know we were on the way, there was a centerpiece catching on fire. I wish I had just been able to relax and enjoy the whole day, but thats not really my personality.
