    Occupation/Area of Study:       Teacher (high school English)                                                             

    Hobbies/Interests:  I love to read, movies/TV, crafty things

    How long have you been with your FI/Husband?:  nearly 4 years!

    Where did you meet?:  "Teacher School"

    Processional Song for the Ceremony:  Working on that...we're exploring piano versions of songs we like.  I'll be looking on here for suggestions!

  • Date you're getting married (or got married):  August 25th, 2012.                                          

    Occupation/Area of Study: Currenlty a searcher of employment, previously a grad student in medieval history.                                                                   

    Hobbies/Interests: embroidery, sewing, I am just learning to knit. I am also a big reader.

    How long have you been with your FI/Husband?: A little over three years.

    Where did you meet?: A professional conference. He was manning the registration table, and my folder was mis-filed. We hung out together for the rest of the conference.

    Date you're getting married (or got married): Nov. 3, 2012                                        

    Occupation/Area of Study: Civil litigation paralegal for large law firm

    Hobbies/Interests: history, play the flute, love dancing (FI and I are currently taking Waltz and Salsa classes)

    How long have you been with your FI/Husband?: 8 months

    Where did you meet?: On a Charis young adult retreat called "What's Next" at the Ignatious House just outside Atlanta...apparently his mother encouraged him to attend saying "maybe you will meet someone."   I had won a free weekend retreat at the retreat center and was in a place where I thought I would get more from a young adult retreat than their standard silent retreats.  We went back 3 months ago to go hiking on the extensive property, where he proposed on a bench by the river.  We thought about getting married there too, but since they pretty much continuously have retreats it wasn't really logistically possible.

    Processional Song for the Ceremony: not sure about the WP but Wagner's Bridal Chorus for me...I know it is cliche, but it's what I want

    Thanks!  People have asked me how I feel about the attention being taken off of me.  I tell them that I will be the one in the white dress, I am not worried.  It is cool because most of his groomsmen are Scottish and they will be wearing their own families tartans.  (Yes, most of his friends own their own kilts and wear them any chance they can get lol)    It made picking the flowers a little tricky.  The bridesmaids are wearing red and red is a common color in all the tartans so we are doing mixed red flowers.

    Student, but graduating May 5 (yay!!!), and then working as a Legislative Assistant for the Indiana House of Representatives.

    Hobbies/Interests:
    Reading, playing board games with FI, knit/crochet/sew, frisbee golf, hiking, walking/running(ish)

    How long have you been with your FI/Husband?:
    2.5 years (ish)

    Where did you meet?:
    My dad died my senior year of high school, but in his college days he had been part of a fraternity in the same town where I went to college.  I went there one day to ask for a tour, and then started going to their parties.  I met FI at the Halloween party where I was talking to one of his "brothers" on a small couch, and he sat on us and we got to talking.  The rest is history :)

    <div>I did compete. I was never super serious about it, it was more exercise and a social thing for me. I was just at novice/prizewinner levels when I quit. A girl I used to dance with just got her TCRG! I do miss it sometimes.</div>

  • Both of my basenjs came from Basenji Rescue and Transport (BRAT) - it's a really great organization!  If your fiance changes his mind ever, definitely check them out if you're looking to adopt another B!

    i rarely post as am organising a catholic wedding in france (where my fiance is from) and the procedures for getting permission, booking a church etc are quite different. 

    BUT after much effort, we have now received permission to use our preferred church and are just waiting for the paperwork to go through :) 

    i do like reading what others are planning for their ceremonies though!
