Inviting the Priest?

Hi All,
This might be a silly question, but I'm wondering what the protocol is for inviting the priest to the reception.  Did you just mail an invitation to the rectory like any other guest?  It seems weird to invite him to the wedding, since he HAS to be there!

We want to invite our priest, but we don't know him terribly well (we've only lived in his parish a year or so), so I'm not sure how to go about it!

Thanks in advance for any adivce!

We are planning to invite ours.  We figure it's a long shot that he'll come to the reception, but would be nice to invite him.  :)

Our reception is going to be from 4-8, which is right during Saturday mass.

Yes, we're inviting the priest.  We sent the invite to the rectory.

Here's how we addressed it to him as a diocesan priest:
    Inner - Fr. Smith
Outer - The Reverend John Smith

We sent our priest an invitation. He came to the reception a little later bc he had the Saturday evening vigil mass to do.

Yep. We mailed it to his mailing address, which happens to be a P.O. Box, just like any other invitation.

He is the only person (so far) to have added "with joy" after ____ will attend on the response card. He also shot FI and me an email about meeting (tomorrow -- yay!) to go over wedding stuff and joked about having put his RSVP in the mail, even though we could assume that he would be there.

We went our Priest an invite. He had a blast at the rehearsal dinner regaling everyone of his wedding stories from the past 50 years. He also stayed fairly late at the wedding reception. I learned that he is quite the good dancer. He was spinning me out on the dance floor having a blast swing dancing.
