FOCCUS mentor couple

Did you send anything to your FOCCUS couple, like a thank you, or invite them to your wedding?

We finished our FOCCUS and I was thinking of maybe sending a thank you. I'm thinking an invitation to the wedding might be a bit much since it's out of town and I wouldn't want them to feel pressured to send a gift.

What do you think?

I'm pretty sure we sent out a thank you note to ours.

I didn't send anything to mine, but they spent all of 10 minutes with me.  I think if I was working with them more one-on-one, I would have definitely sent a Thank You.  But not an invite to the wedding.  They really didn't spend any time with me though.  There was 35 couples in my pre-cana, and they had 7 themselves.

We never had a FOCCUS couple. The priest did everything with us. But I think TY would be perfectly fine.

Our deacon did our FOCCUS test with us (before we were engaged... yes, a bit odd!) and we just had our first meeting with our mentor couple.  I think that we'll probably invite both to our wedding as well as send thank you cards/gifts of some sort.

In your situation, I think a thank you note and small gift (restaurant gift card?) would be appropriate to show your appreciation for their commitment of time and guidance to you both during your preparation.  I think it's very considerate to not make them feel obligated to come to your wedding if it's out of town!  I've got a million friends (and my sister) getting married right now and wish that I didn't get invited to all of the weddings because it gets so expensive as a guest... especially when I'm trying to pay for my own wedding expenses.  I'm not sure if it would be proper etiquette... but maybe in your note to them, mention that you'd love to invite them but understand the substantial commitment that attending your wedding would entail for them since it's out of town and you didn't want to make them feel obligated to go?  I'm probably wrong :)

Our wedding is way way out of town so we did not invite them.  For our last session, I brought a nice bouquet of stargazer lillies and a thank you note.  I plan to send a thank you email with a link to all of our pro-pics when we get them.  They made me promise I would send photos!
